Boyd Brown Jr. was more than an NFL player. He was a man whose heart was bigger than any stadium he ever played in. Born and raised right here in the MissLou, Boyd carried the same generous spirit on the field that he showed every day in our community. Whether he was running for a touchdown or quietly helping a neighbor, he believed giving back wasn’t something you did once in a while — it was how you lived.
Anyone who knew him saw that light. He played with passion for the Denver Broncos, wearing #87 with pride, but his greatest joy was always lifting others up. He believed every person has the power to make someone else’s day brighter, and he lived that truth until the very end.
Boyd’s love for family, friends, and football was matched only by his love for giving. He taught us that the real wins in life happen when you help someone else cross the goal line. That’s why, after he passed, we know we must keep his spirit alive in being A Blessing In Disguise, Inc.
Every December we select a deserving single mother in the MissLou and give her a special gift so she can walk into a local store and personally choose Christmas toys for her children — just like Boyd would have done. No spotlight, no fuss… just pure joy passed from one heart to another.
That same generous spirit is what you we strive to be.
Boyd may no longer be with us in person, but his legacy runs through every shopping cart, every child’s laugh, and every single mother who gets to feel the joy of providing for her kids at Christmas. He believed in the power of quiet kindness, and that’s exactly what we carry forward.
If Boyd were here today, he’d tell you the same thing he always told me: “Everyone can give something back.”
That’s why this page exists — not just to remember a great man, but to invite you to be part of the good he started. Your gift today becomes part of Boyd’s continuing story.
Thank you for helping us honor a man who gave so freely.
Every donation keeps Boyd’s generous heart beating right here in the MissLou.
